Do you notice a difference between the two communities? I do.
What are your observations? Hercules is very quiet. The neighborhood is very calm. There are no kids always running around everywhere. In El Cerrito it’s more of a lot of kids. [pauses] We got robbed a few times already this year here in El Cerrito (at AT&T).
Do you feel safe here? I do feel safe here, because there’s a guard here that watches the Plaza. It’s like family: We know everybody that works in every store here. ... I pretty much know everybody who works here.
Does it feel like a big community? Yes, it does. Everybody is friendly, although sometimes we have the people coming in here robbing us.
What do you do for fun? I ride motorcycles.
What kind? I have a GSXR 600 2003.
How long have you been riding? Four years now.
Do you go to the track at all? No, but I ride with Bahala Na Ryders. We have our own club; we do rides. When there’s breast cancer, we do donations. When we had 9-11, we (did) rides. Last year we came up with 600 pounds of food, and we got an award for raising that much food and donating it. Our club is a supporter club: We like to support people in need. We have a good name out there.
