• Newsom signs Ashby's SB 802 on Sacramento homelessness (elkgrovenews.net) — Elk Grove is now required by a new state law to join Sacramento County and nearby cities in forming a regional housing and homelessness authority by 2028, even as it builds a permanent shelter on Survey Road. Local officials, who once opposed SB 802, worry about control and funding, and it's still unclear how the regional structure could affect Elk Grove's shelter rules and services.
