Elk Grove Agent Perry Palamidessi Nominated Man of the Year For the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Sacramento Chapter

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, Northern California's leading real estate services company, announced today that Perry Palamidessi, an agent in the company’s Elk Grove office, has been nominated for the Man of the Year award for the Sacramento Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).
Palamidessi is a lifelong resident of West Sacramento and a 12-year veteran of the local real estate market. Throughout his career, he has ranked among the top agents in the region. But it's his charitable work in support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society that garnered him the nomination.
"Perry is an outstanding candidate for the LLS Man of the Year award," said Jeff Talani, manager of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Elk Grove. "He has worked tirelessly to help raise funds for LLS and find donor matches on behalf of those battling leukemia and lymphoma. Everyone at Coldwell Banker admires his selfless work and wish him the best of luck in his campaign."

Palamidessi is hoping to follow in the footsteps of Kris Vogt, president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, who last year received the Man of the Year award for LLS after raising more than $100,000 for the organization.
The Man & Woman of the Year competition is held each year in LLS chapters around the country in honor of The Boy & Girl of the Year – local children who are blood cancer survivors. Now through May 11, Palamidessi and his campaign team will work to raise as much money as possible for LLS through a variety of fundraisers. Each dollar raised is considered a vote for Palamidessi's campaign. All money raised stays in the local LLS chapter.

Palamidessi first became interested in LLS when his younger brother Danny was diagnosed with Leukemia in 1987. Family members were hoping to be a donor match, but to no avail. So they reached out to others in the community and were overwhelmed by the outpouring of support when more than 4,000 people in the greater Sacramento area came forward in hopes of being a match.
"Throughout Danny’s struggle, I gained so much respect for Leukemia and Lymphoma fighters and survivors," he said. "Watching someone I love and admire take on his own battle head-on inspired a passion inside me to help those battling Leukemia.
Although the family was never able to find a match for Danny, as a result of so many people coming forward to give up their time and effort, roughly 25 lives internationally have been saved, Palamidessi said. "Danny’s mission wasn’t just to find a donor for himself, but to help others," he said. "Danny once said, 'I’ll be happy if at least one donor for someone else is found through the blood drives.”
Since Danny's diagnosis, Palamidessi and his family set up the Daniel C. Palamidessi Foundation, named in his brother's honor, to help as many people as possible. He has worked in a variety of fundraisers for the LLS, including helping raise to money through its live auction.
"Upon hearing I was nominated to run for Man of the Year for LLS, without hesitation I agreed to take on the challenge," he said. "This is my opportunity to continue on with what my brother started. My nomination as Man of the Year provides me with a unique platform to reach even more people and save even more lives."
The announcement of the winners will be made at the Grand Finale Gala on May 11 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Sacramento. The event is open to the public and tickets may be purchased by visiting Palamidessi's website.
