Fig needs a home

Fig, the perfect family dog, is ready and waiting at Kritter Kamp Rescue.

Editor's note: We're happy to introduce new blogger Linda Mar of Kritter Kamp Rescue. Linda's 'Pet of the Week' blog will introduce readers to animals who are in need of homes. For more information about these cuties or to adopt one, email kritter.kamp@yahoo.com.

Fig is an adorable male Chihuahua mix who is about 18 months old and weighs 9 lbs. He is very friendly and happily wags his whole body if he thinks it might get your attention!  Fig's size and temperament would make him the perfect dog for a family pet.

Little Fig has been thru a lot in his short life. He came to Kritter Kamp Rescue as an older puppy and was adopted out to a family several months later. After a period of a couple of weeks, Fig's new owners returned him to the rescue because he had stopped eating and was quickly losing weight. We immediately discovered that his little tongue had been nearly severed in two and was badly infected. No wonder he was unable to eat! Part of Figgy's tongue was removed by our Vet and he has made a full recovery. He doesn't suffer any long term effects and can eat normally now.

Despite his tough beginnings, Fig loves everyone and enjoys giving sloppy kisses with his lips since he cannot really lick. He gets along with other dogs and adores children! Fig is ready and waiting at Kritter Kamp Rescue for his own fur-ever home and family to love!
