In this economy, almost everyone knows someone who's looking for work. While Elk Grove has a lower unemployment rate than other towns in our area, there are still plenty of people hitting the pavement each day. Best Buy The die hard of consumer electronics, Best Buy made it through the Good Guys era and ingeniously implemented a computer-service off-shoot, The Geek Squad. 

Position: Geek Squad Counter Intelligence Agent (9131 W Stockton Blvd.)

Duties: Agents will work in a fast-paced retail environment performing computer-related installations and technical support.  

Requirements:  Basic Qualifications: Experience with DOS, Windows 9x/ME/2000/XP/Vista or Apple MacOS troubleshooting of operating systems and internet connection issues. Knowledge of computer hardware diagnostic and troubleshooting, software installations and upgrading. Preferred Qualifications: Proof of Apple certifications (current or expired) or laptop repair training, the ability to troubleshoot and resolve Windows XP/Vista and basic Apple OS X problems, Apple hardware certifications. Linux experience is a plus since it is required to perform many Data Rescue services. Lack of Linux and Mac experience will not disqualify candidates; training is provided.

Position: Geek Squad Deputy of Counter Intelligence Supervisor (9131 W Stockton Blvd.)

Duties: Lead the team and drive the financial and operational outcomes of the Precinct.

Requirements:  Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent, at least 1 year of work experience diagnosing and repairing computers and consumer electronics, 1 year of leadership experience, at least 18 years of age.   Preferred Qualifications: 2+ years work experience diagnosing and repairing computers and consumer electronics, A+ Computer Certification or higher. Associate or Bachelor's degree in PC or consumer electronics repair.

Position: Geek Squad Automotive Installation Tech  (9131 W Stockton Blvd.)

Duties: Technicians will install everything from mobile video to outrageous audio. You will install car stereo components, auto security, GPS, mobile video, satellite radio, cellular telephones, and accessories into motorized vehicles and provide technical advice.

Requirements: Six months job related experience, achieve and maintain MECP Basic Installer, Certification, achieve and maintain BBY certification, valid driver's license, at least 18 years of age. Lifting and carrying weight of up to 50 lbs. and standing/moving up to 100% of time is required. Remember, this is not a desk job!
