About the Workshop: Join us for a two-day workshop to carve and glaze a large ceramic platter which can hang on a wall inside or outside, or be a beautiful addition to a custom table setting. Students will receive general information about clay art and learn specific techniques for carving and painting a functional piece of art. The first day will be spent forming and carving the clay platter; the second day will be painting the platter with non toxic glazes. You will be requested to pick up your finished piece from the instructor after it is fired in a kiln. All materials will be provided including clay, tools, glazes, firing twice and wire for hanging the platter. No prior clay experience is needed.
