Champion Semi-Pro Women's Soccer Team Plays Saturday

A local championship soccer team will .

's Women’s Semi Pro Indoor Soccer Team will play Off the Wall Santa Clara at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Soccer World, 9756 Kent St.

The two teams are part of the Premier Arena Soccer League, and last year the Elk Grove women's team won the summer championship.

The team is made of women ages 17 to 35, and Soccer World co-owner Brian Montenegro said this year's team is poised to finish the season well.

"Currently our ladies team hold [the] national title and are looking to defend our title," Montenegro said in an email. "[They] are on path to being part of the 2012 national tournament in Las Vegas at the end of the month of July."

Admission to Saturday's game is $5, and $3 for those 12 and younger. Elk Grove Youth Soccer League players wearing their team jersey will get in for free.
