David Garibaldi in 'America's Got Talent' Semi-Finals Tues.

The performance painter and his quartet of assistants will be on the national show again this week.

will compete with his crew of painters for a spot in the finals of "America's Got Talent" Tuesday night.

Garibaldi, who attended , will face off against 11 other acts in the semi-finals; so far three finalists have been announced. The grand prize for the show is a million dollars and a show in Las Vegas.

In a recent interview with the Sacramento Bee, Sheldon High School animation teacher Shawn Sullivan called Garibaldi "a painting magician."

"He tricks people into thinking he's destroyed his painting, and all of a sudden it appears," Sullivan told the Bee.

Last year, Sullivan's students at Sheldon High School created an animated introduction for Garibaldi and his CMYKs–it's shown above.

Garibaldi dropped out of Sheldon High to pursue a painting career, the Bee reported.

Locally, "America's Got Talent" airs at 8 p.m. on NBC (KCRA-3). Area restaurants will host viewing parties for the show with happy hour specials; Sacramento Kings emcee Scott Freshour will be at the .
