Driving Through Old Town Saturday? Take Bond Instead

Drivers headed down Elk Grove Boulevard Saturday evening may need to alter their route, then do it again on the first Saturday of every month until October.

will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. this weekend, and Elk Grove Boulevard will be closed between 2nd Avenue and School Street.

"On the first Saturday of every month from June until October, the City of Elk Grove will close Elk Grove Blvd. between School Street and 2nd Avenue from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. to vehicle traffic in order to accommodate the event," the city said in a press release. "Eastbound traffic on Elk Grove Blvd. will be diverted at 2nd Ave.  Westbound traffic on Elk Grove Blvd. will be diverted at School St." 

Bond Road is also available as a detour, the press release states.
