Elk Grove Bank Robbery Linked to 7 Others
Elk Grove Police and FBI are investigating robbery string
Elk Grove Police detectives and the FBI are investigating a Dec. 20 U.S. Bank robbery as part of a string of robberies stretching from the Bay Area to Sacramento.
U.S. Bank has offered up to a $25,000 reward for information leading to the identification and arrest of the suspect, who is believed to have robbed the following branches:
- September 1: US Bank in South San Francisco.
- October 12: US Bank in Fremont
- October 19: Cupertino
- October 24: Los Altos
- October 24: US Bank in Sunnyvale
- December 20: US Bank in
- December 20:
- December 22: US Bank in Redwood City
In Elk Grove, a male suspect entered a U.S. Bank on the 9200 block of Elk Grove Florin Road at 11:59 a.m. Dec. 20, according to Elk Grove Police Department Public Information Officer Christopher Trim.

The suspect handed the bank teller a note, indicating he was armed and demanding money.
The teller gave him an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency, and the suspect left the bank.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male in his late 20s, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds with black hair, black rimmed glasses and a dark-colored beard that is possibly fake. He was wearing a black jacket with a light-colored shirt and dark-colored pants.
The FBI, the Elk Grove Police Department, and other local jurisdictions are investigating these robberies. In each case, the suspect presented a note but did not display any actual weapons.
