Elk Grove Golfer Finishes Fourth in PGA Memorial Tournament

A professional golfer hailing from Elk Grove finished tied for fourth place in this weekend's PGA tournament, behind one of the people who inspired him to get into golf.

Spencer Levin, who attended and the University of New Mexico, finished the Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio, at 5-under-par. He tied with Daniel Summerhays, while Tiger Woods earned first place at 9-under-par.

The Elk Grove local told the Columbus Dispatch newspaper that he grew up watching Tiger Woods play.

Levin led the tournament going into the fourth and final round, but then shot a 3-over-par 75 to fall to fourth place.

Still, he earned almost $273,000 in winnings at the tournament, and has made $1.2 million in winnings this season, according to the PGA.
