Elk Grove Students Invited to Submit Water Conservation Ideas for a Chance to Win Cash Prizes

Students Encouraged to Think Clean for Fall 2014

With more than half the state of California experiencing anexceptional drought, Beutler Air Conditioning & Plumbing and the Elk Grove Unified School District (EGUSD) are partnering to raise awareness among middle and high school students about water conservation.

Known as the Think Clean contest, students from EGUSD are encouraged to submit their best water conversation ideas for an opportunity to win cash prizes.

The contest is open to all creative ideas in the form of essays, models and drawings. Entries must be submitted through Oct. 28, 2014 and clearly showcase the idea as well as detail what the impact would be on the local community.

“The timing for this contest is crucial with the current state of California and the drought we are experiencing,” said Jim Anderberg, general manager of Beutler Air Conditioning & Plumbing. “At Beutler, we take water conservation and energy-efficiency very seriously and we are excited to share that passion with the students of Elk Grove. Our goal with the Think Clean contest is to motivate our youth to think about the impact they can make on our environment and within their community.”

Beutler Air Conditioning & Plumbing and EGUSD Think Clean contest invites all students from grades six through 12 to participate.

Three winners will be selected from each category (middle and high school) and rewarded with cash prizes; the first place winners will receive $250, the second place winners $150 and the third place winners $100. In addition, Beutler will donate $100 to each of the winning students’ schools.

Submissions for the Think Clean contest will be accepted through Oct. 28, 2014. All entries must include a thorough explanation of the idea, the potential impact of the idea on the economy and/or community and how the idea can be implemented throughout their community.

Projects must be submitted via email tobeutlerthinkclean@boltpr.com or mailed to Beutler Think Clean, 9731 Irvine Center Drive, Irvine, CA 92618 no later than Oct. 28, 2014.
