Water bill arrived for 27 days, Elk Grove is charging me $112.93 (150% of my water bill prior to their rate increase); this is the lowest bill since they RAISED THEIR RATES; another increase is due in January. On top of charging for the water you use, that add an additional “Water Base Charge” which means nothing since they are also charging a baseline of water usage (30 CCF) before they add their tier increase above their arbitrarily designated baseline . They can call it whatever they want, inflation, water base, etc.; I see it as padding the bill to pay for their spending errors and investments. AT their meetings, they say there is no rate increase, I say ha! They say they are covering for inflation, once again I say “ha!” since this 'non-increase' increases the inflationary costs of living in Elk Grove. They say the rate increase scheduled in January will be modest, and once again I say, “ha!”
