ANCIENT MYSTERIES: OIL/PALETTE KNIFE WORKSHOP

ANCIENT MYSTERIES: OIL/PALETTE KNIFE WORKSHOP, with Mark Johnson, Thursday & Friday, September 13 & 14, 7 PM – 9 PM, Fee $40.00.  Students will learn the use of oils or acrylics on canvas, studying the mysteries of light, shadows and color.  Basic principles of composition, observation and painting in impressionistic style will be taught.

About the Instructor: Mark Johnson, who has painted since the age of seventeen, now teaches painting at St. John’s Women’s Shelter in Sacramento.  He has painted seriously since 2004 in both oil and acrylic.  He studied with Susan Sarback at the School of Light and Color in Fair Oaks, studying in the tradition of Monet.
