Got old athletic shoes you've outgrown and haven't yet donated to Goodwill? Good thing, for Elk Grove is starting Earth Week with a special program which involves collecting athletic shoes, which will be "processed and recycled into material used in basketball and tennis courts, athletic fields, running tracks and playgrounds," per the City of Elk Grove.
