First Candidates File to Run for School Board and CSD
As of Tuesday afternoon, three candidates had pulled papers to run for the seven seats up for election this fall.

, three people have started the process to get their names on the ballot for the races of Elk Grove Unified School District Board of Education and Cosumnes Community Services District Board of Directors.
In the school district's Area 1, Susan Parvis has pulled papers to run for office, according to Sacramento County Elections Office officials. Bill Lugg, who has represented that area for decades, said last week that he won't run for reelection this fall.

In the district's Area 6, appointed member Jake Rambo has filed to run for election. .
No candidates have yet filed to run for office in Areas 3 or 7, according to Sacramento County officials.

Meanwhile, one incumbent member of the Cosumnes Community Services District Board of Directors has filed to run for reelection.
Michelle Orrock, first elected to that board in 2008, has pulled papers to run again this fall. She said in a statement Tuesday afternoon that she's the right candidate to trust with taxpayer dollars.
"In the last four years we have cut our budget while maintaining the high level of emergency services that our community deserves," Orrock said in a press release. "In these challenging times we also need to continue to improve our programming and the services we provide the community through our Parks and Recreation Departments."
, these three do not have to gather nomination signatures before they can appear on the ballot. They just need to fill out some forms like a declaration of candidacy and submit a candidate statement, elections office spokesman Brad Buyse said.
