Update: Four Stabbed, Suspect Killed By Police at California College Campus
The attack happened Wednesday morning. The names of the suspect and victims have not been released.

The University of California Merced has clarified that four people were stabbed, instead of five. The university tweeted:
CORRECTION: 4 stabbed: 2 students, 1 staff member, 1 vendor. All expected to recover.

All of the victims are expected to survive.
At a 4 p.m. news conference, law enforcement officials announced that the suspect, a student from California who lived on campus, has been identified. However, his identify is being withheld until his family is notified.

All classes are cancelled Thursday. Counselors are on campus to help students and staff cope with the trauma.

Five people were stabbed today at the University of California Merced, and the suspect killed by police, according to the university.
The college announced on its Twitter account, “Campus police report suspect shot & killed. 5 students have been treated for stab wounds. Campus remains closed. Classes canceled.”
The school later clarified that not all of the victims had been confirmed to be students. Two of the stabbing victims were airlifted to hospitals, while the others were receiving treatment on campus.
There’s no word on who the suspect was, or why he went on a rampage.
More information will be released at a news conference acheduled for 4 p.m.
