ELK GROVE, Calif. – May 22, 2020 – Undeterred by the extended school closures, students from Franklin High School’s STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) Academy collected awards from five national and regional organizations. The students adjusted their art studios from their classrooms to their home and continued fine-tuning projects before submitting and winning awards. Students submitted their work to organizations, including Directing Change, Access Sacramento, Breathe California – Sacramento Region, the San Francisco Film Festival and the National Academy of Television Arts & Science. Many of the scheduled in-person recognition ceremonies were either canceled or adjusted to be virtual celebrations.
Overjoyed by the number of awards that his students collected, Franklin High School’s Animation and Media Production Academy Coordinator said, “I am very proud of my students. I am always amazed by their creativity and dedication to the projects they create.”
