TWO Elk Grove Patch Readers Win Free Smashburger Meals
'Guess the Price of This Meal': a fun game involving local restaurants, free stuff and you.

Update:
The correct answer to this weekend's 'Guess the Price of This Meal and Win' quiz is $9.68. Our lunch included a regular-sized Norcal burger (brie, applewood-smoked bacon and grilled onions, $5.99) and an Iceberg wedge side salad ($2.99).
While none of you guessed correctly, readers Connie Conley and Amani each came within 18 cents of the total, and will both receive a Smashburger gift card. Please email elkgrove@patch.com with your mailing address to claim your prize.

This marks the second time in the past week that an Elk Grove Patch giveaway has ended in a tie. If this is evidence of some kind of nefarious reader conspiracy to get Elk Grove Patch to give away more goodies, well, what can we say? You're succeeding smashingly.

We stopped by Smashburger's new Elk Grove restaurant the other day and the joint was popping.
It seems Elk Grovians appreciate the chain's affordable, creative burgers—or maybe they're just drawn by the novelty. Every inside table was taken, but we managed to find an outdoor perch at which to devour the meal pictured.
We thought it was the perfect time to indulge in a game our fellow Patch editors have been .
The rules are simple: Be the first person to guess the exact price of our lunch, including tax but not tip, and win a gift card in the same amount so you can enjoy your own Smashburger feast. Leave your guesses in the comments.
If no one guesses correctly by 5:00 p.m. Monday, we'll award the prize to whoever guessed closest.
Ready, set, go!
P.S. While we're on the subject of giveaways, how is everyone enjoying their Patch tote bags from last month?
