High School Students Needed for Summer Work

Summer is here, so mom and dad, sit back and let the kids bring home the bacon for a change. This week’s job column has a variety of job opportunities for teens and adults, ranging from selling the newspaper to selling tires.
Position: Junior sales team

Duties: Sign people up for The Sacramento Bee newspaper.
Requirements: Must be able to able work a minimum of three days a week. No experience required. Teens under 18 years of age must have parent’s approval.

Hours: Any three days you pick that are available. Begin at 4:00 p.m. and be home by 9:30 p.m. Transportation will be provided.
Compensation: Depending on sales, bonuses every night and special trips such as paintball, movies, water parks, etc.

Position: Cosmetologist assistant/receptionist
Duties: Greet clients, answer multiple phone lines, and assist stylists attending education classes. Assist with retail sales, basic cleaning, sweeping, checking out clients and other related duties.
Requirements: Must be licensed, wanting to grow in the industry, and able to work in a fast paced environment and multitask.

Duties: Operations management, recruiting, hiring, training, opening and closing, customer service, sales, associate development, merchandise display and store signage placement.
Requirements: Minimum 3 years prior retail management, background in dealing with hard lines or variety merchandise (big box or grocery experience a plus), strong productive ability in freight processing, communication skills and ability to work in a high-energy team environment.

Duties: Interact with customers via phone or in the store, solve problems, communicate accurately with manager and technicians, utilize company documents to communicate clearly with customers, meet Firestone standards and other miscellaneous duties.
Requirements: Minimum one year of retail sales experience, valid driver’s license and must pass the pre-employment drug test, physical exam and background check.
