Implementing ACA - Can It Work?

As the ACA struggles through a less than stellar lift-off, Americans are starting to take a second look at the wisdom of this measure, and the forces behind the concept.

I am always concerned when our elected leaders appear too interested in a legacy, ramming through massive programs, without carefully thinking through the implementation.  It is now clear that this was the case with ACA.

While the concept of making healthcare accessible for the working poor is important, the model used for the ACA was not based on sound fiscal facts, or human nature.  Con. Pelosi told us we would have to pass the measure to see what's in it...and now we know.

Any program of this scope is going to have glitches, but the concept cannot be sustained financially.  This is not about the website, this is about accomplishing the goal - making healthcare available to the working poor - without bankrupting our nation. The American people need to demand that the President stop legislating from the White House and allow the elected representatives in the House and Senate to revisit the program.  The voters also need to demand that the leadership in the House and the Senate think less about partisanship and their positions, and more about sound policy and leading their members.  If they succeed, their survival will be secure.
