CERAMIC GODDESS ART by Kanika Marshall, August 14th and 21st, 5-8 PM
Class Fee: $70, Materials Fee: $40
About the Workshop: Join us for a two-day workshop to carve and glaze several hand built ceramic projects which celebrate the Woman, the Feminine, the Diva, the Goddess. Projects include a small wallhanging, wearable art jewelry, and a three-dimensional statue. Students will receive general information about clay art and learn specific techniques for carving and painting these sculptures. The first day will be spent forming and carving all projects, as well as painting the statue with underglazes, in preparation for kiln firing. The second date will be glazing the remaining projects for a second kiln firing and finishing the statue with yarn, leather and/or wire. You will be requested to pick up your finished pieces at the EGFAC one week later. All materials will be provided, including clay, tools, glazes, firing twice in the kiln, wire for hanging, leather, yarn for hair, etc. No prior clay experience is needed.
