Merryhill Schools Donate 600 Items for Local Children in Need
Merryhill School students held donation drives to benefit students at Mustard Seed School
Students at Merryhill Elementary School and Merryhill Preschool on Calvine Road in Elk Grove recently donated 600 gifts and essential items to Mustard Seed School, a free private school that provides education to homeless children. Throughout December, students held a drive to collect clothes, books, school supplies, baby supplies, hygiene items, shoes, outerwear, gift cards and more for students who attend Mustard Seed School. At the close of the drive, students packed the donations, helped load them into vehicles and assisted with delivery of the items to Mustard Seed School. Through this initiative, students learned the importance of helping other children in need.
Mustard Seed School provides a safe, nurturing and structured environment, a positive learning experience, survival resources of food, clothing and shelter referrals, medical and dental screenings, immunization updates, counseling for children and their parents, and assistance entering or reentering public schools.
