Nearby Patch Wins 'Deck the House' Contest

Davis Patch netted $100,000 for its local school district.

UPDATE: Davis Patch has won the national 'Deck the House' contest. Thanks to everyone who helped out our neighbors with their votes. Let's bring it home for Elk Grove next year!

OK, so Elk Grove didn't make it to the finals in Patch’s Deck the House holiday decoration contest. Yup, we're bummed, too...there's no doubt the Elk Grove Unified School District could have used the $100,000 grand prize. But we can still help our friends in Davis represent for the Sacramento region.

Four homes in California made it to the top 24, and one of them is Davis resident Kristy Powell’s home on Henri Court—dubbed “Candy Cane Court." A win for Powell could net a cool 100 grand for Davis schools.
