The Western Festival brought huge crowds to Elk Grove Park on Saturday.
Residents and visitors flocked to on Saturday to enjoy one of Elk Grove's biggest traditions, the 55th Annual Western Festival.
Vistors were able to enjoy vendors, food, games, shows and rides.
For some, it is a tradition they have enjoyed every year since childhood, looking to share the same memories with their children.

Elk Grove resident Michelle Costa said she attended the festival to work at a booth, but also brought her family along to enjoy the fun. She said she has enjoyed the festival since she was a child and comes every year with her family.
“It’s just the tradition,” Costa said. “Letting our kids do what we did. The rides, the food, the shops.”

James Reyes said he was visiting from the Bay Area. He said it was his first time at the Western Festival.
“It’s a good festival,” Reyes said. “I feel like maybe it could be a bit bigger though.”
Elk Grove resident Amy Machell said she comes to the festival so her daughter can have some fun.
“It’s having fun with friends and family, and seeing my daughter smile,” Machell said. “I think it’s better than last year, there are more booths.”
The festival had a large influx of people throughout the day, many with families. Perhaps Machell described it best when she said, “It’s good family fun.”
