Run 4 Independence (benefitting Elk Grove Food Bank Services)

The 9th Annual/2013 Run 4 Independence, taking place on the last Saturday in June - June 29, 2013, benefits Elk Grove Food Bank Services and is our Largest Annual Fundraiser.  Each year families, friends, and competitive runners come together to share in this Elk Grove tradition.

In 2013, we are expecting 1,500 runners. The event includes 5K and 10K courses in beautiful Elk Grove Regional Park and winds through the surrounding neighborhoods. For kids 12 and under, we offer half-mile and quarter-mile fun runs. Register NOW!

The run features disposable chip timing for the 5K/10K; Age group awards; Team Awards; Short Sleeve Run T-Shirt for 5K runners; Micro-Fiber Run shirt for the 10K runners; flat course; post-run food and entertainment.

Run Times:
8:00 AM
– Kids ¼ Mile Fun Run (kids 12 & under)
8:10 AM – Kids ½ Mile Fun Run (kids 12 & under)
8:30 AM – 5K Run/Walk and 10K Run

Proceeds from the Run 4 Independence benefits Elk Grove Food Bank Services (EGFBS), a non-profit dedicated to alleviating hunger, developing programs to build client self-sufficiency, and providing an opportunity for volunteerism. The work of the EGFBS benefits over 3,300 individuals from the Elk Grove area every month which equates to almost 40,000 encounters annually.
