Scherman and Shanks Officially Join Mayor's Race

Two more candidates on Tuesday joined the official race to be Elk Grove's first elected mayor, Elk Grove City Clerk Jason Lindgren said in an email.

Council Member and Charles S. Shanks pulled papers to run for mayor Tuesday, Lindgren said.

Scherman has been on the city council since the city incorporated in 2000, and

Before they can be listed on the November ballot, both must gather 20 signatures nominating them to run.
