Western Festival Riding Into Town
The Elk Grove Western Festival takes place this Saturday and Sunday.
A longtime tradition for Elk Grove continues this weekend with the 55th Annual Elk Grove Western Festival.
Festivities begin on Saturday, May 5 with a parade at 10 a.m. The parade starts in Old Elk Grove and ends at the Elk Grove High School parking lot.
Street closures will be in effect for the parade from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Street closures include Elk Grove Boulevard from Waterman to Emerald Oak Drive, Both directions of Elk Grove Florin Road and Elk Grove Boulevard, Emerald Oak Drive to Valley Oak Drive and Valley Oak Drive to Elk Grove Florin Road.

The remainder of the festival will take place at Elk Grove Regional Park, where there will be a carnival, Kid’s Zone, performers, vendors and food. Click here to see the full schedule of events.
There will also be a Classic Car Show on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes muscle cars, convertibles, customs and trucks.

Art works will be on display at the festival, with Elk Grove Artists sponsoring its 7th Annual Elk Grove Artists High School Art Contest and Show. The contest features works for junior and senior students in the Elk Grove Unified School District.
