Scout Troop 2000 presents the 14th annual Haunted Hotel in Olivenhain.
The scare takes place in the two story, 128 year old, Hotel Germania, built by
the colony’s original German settlers in 1885. Over 2,000 guest are expected to
attend the two-weekend event.
The
hotel is located in the rural community of Olivenhain, just east of Encinitas -
at the site of the historic Olivenhain Meeting Hall, Rancho Santa Fe Rd., at
the corner of 7th St.

The
eight haunted rooms of the creaking hotel were designed and constructed by boy
scouts. The house managers, actors, and guides are scouts or family members.
There are three different scare levels – scary, tame, and friendly.

The
Haunted Hotel runs from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Friday & Saturday nights,
October 19 & 20, and 25 & 26. Admission is $5.00 per person.
Refreshments are available, a game carnival, maze, and a large outdoor movie
screen will show free Halloween cartoon movies.
A
portion of the proceeds benefits the Olivenhain Town Council's ongoing
restoration of the hotel.
