Chopped Chillies is a 9-month-old, 19-pound, male, Terrier mix.

He got lost. When nobody claimed him, he was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through Friends of County Animal Shelters (FOCAS).

Chopped Chillies melts into petting, then asks for more.

He could live with kids 10 years and older and he would love to have a yard. Chili could probably live in an apartment. He needs someone home with him most of the time. He might also like living with a confident dog friend.

The $145 adoption fee for Chopped Chillies includes medical exam, neuter, up to date vaccinations, registered microchip, and a one-year license if his new home is in the jurisdiction of San Diego Humane Society.

For more information visit Rancho Coastal Humane Society in Encinitas or log on to www.SDpets.org. Open from 11 AM to 4 PM every day but Tuesday.

Special note.

In less than two minutes, the temperature inside a closed vehicle can become deadly. Especially at risk are pets, children, elderly people, people taking medication, people who have been ill, and people who are overweight.

What if you see an overheated dog or person in a hot car? Call out to see if the owner is nearby. If you’re at a store, ask them to make an announcement.
Call 9-1-1.
Get a witness. Shoot video or photos.
Check to see if the police are nearby.
Take whatever action you feel is necessary…and you can live with.
Before using excessive force, check to see if the door is unlocked, a window is open, or the air conditioning is on.

If it’s too hot for you to walk barefoot or hold your hand to the ground, it’s too hot for your dog’s paws.
