ENCINITAS, CA. — The Cardiff Dog Days of Summer is slated to return Aug. 2 to Encinitas.
The 21st annual event, hosted by Cardiff 101 Main Street, will feature more than 100 vendors, dog contests, rescue groups and family-friendly activities.
Organizers expect thousands of attendees for the celebration of dogs and the Cardiff-by-the-Sea community. The event will include Rescue Row with local animal rescue organizations and adoption agencies, Maker's Market Row featuring regional artisans, live music, children's activities, food vendors and a beer and wine garden.
New this year, the event will feature dachshund and corgi races presented by VCA Animal Hospitals.
Cardiff Dog Days of Summer will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Encinitas Community Park at 425 Santa Fe Drive.
The event is free and open to the public.
A VIP tent, presented by Carlsbad Pet & Feed, will also return for a second year. Tickets cost $35 for one person or $60 for two, and include access to a shaded tent, complimentary drinks and snacks, a swag bag for the first 100 guests and an opportunity drawing ticket.
Friendly, leashed dogs are welcome.
