• Encinitas City Council set to consider proposed red light camera pilot program (10news.com) — Encinitas residents may soon see red light cameras return, as the City Council is set next Wednesday to decide whether staff should keep developing a new pilot program allowed under a recent state law. Safe Streets Encinitas advocates say updated cameras, focused on license plates and lower fines, could reduce dangerous red light crashes like the one that killed 12-year-old Emery Chalekain.
   

• Lightscape: A Dazzling Trail of Color and Light (feverup.com) — Encinitas locals can look forward to Lightscape, a nighttime trail of glowing art and music at the San Diego Botanic Garden on Quail Gardens Drive. The mile-long, self-guided walk features more than 20 illuminated installations, the popular Winter Cathedral, and chances to enjoy live music, festive snacks, cocktails, and hot cocoa, with a waitlist now open for presale tickets.
