Boardroom celebrates surfboard craft at Del Mar Fairgrounds (thecoastnews.com) β An Encinitas surfer and resident, Scott Bass, created The Boardroom International Surfboard Show at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, which returns October 10β11 celebrating surfboard shapers from San Diego and around the world. Newsom Signs SB 1167, Drawing a Clearer Line Between E-Bikes and E-Motos (fiorreports.com) β Encinitas residents will see statewide changes after Governor Newsom signed SB 1167, authored by local Senator Catherine Blakespear, tightening rules on how powerful electric motorcycles can be marketed as e-bikes. The law, effective January 1, 2027, strengthens labeling, safety, and crash-data requirements and comes alongside separate legislation aimed at protecting a state-funded protected bike lane on Santa Fe Boulevard in Encinitas.
