Anonymous Artist sighting near SWAMI'S

My husband, Kevin and our dog Emma and I was on our morning walk traveling back to car after our stroll along Coast Hwy. 101. We said good day to the great ocean view and headed back under the new pedestrian train underpass when I caught a glimpse of an unusual rock. Well, it initially looked like one of the dimpled stones until we stopped for a closer look.

Initially as I knelt down to see what the message might be it didn’t make sense to me. After snapping the attached photos it dawned on me. The phrase had a deeper meaning: “Break ground !!!!!!!!!! not windows”. We slowly began to realize that even though this isn’t the ‘60’s there really are small, random reminders of peaceful ways to protest.

We don’t know who the artist of this unique piece might be, but we agree that breaking windows is not the way to get things done.

Well done Artist, whomever you might be.

BTW, this sighting was last Thursday, December 4th and this morning, Wednesday the 10th the art was gone. I hope it was picked up by it’s creator and not simply gone missing!
