Baseball: Unbeaten LCC Steamrolls San Dieguito
A 10-run fifth inning and homers by Lyon, Hall and Balderas carry the Mavs to a 15-1 victory.
Evan Schreiber fired a one-hitter and Kenyon Lyon, Matt Hall, Anthony Balderas hit home runs to power the unbeaten La Costa Canyon High baseball team to a 15-1 win over host San Dieguito Academy Tuesday in the North County Tournament.
The game was close through four innings before the Mavericks (10-0) sent 14 batters to the plate in a 10-run fifth inning to pull out to a 13-1 lead. Schreiber went the distance, striking out six and not issuing a walk while allowing only an unearned run.
Dominic Anguiano had San Dieguito's lone hit, a double. The Mustangs fall to 2-7.
