Beach Hazard Issued In Encinitas For Memorial Day
If you plan on heading to the beach for Memorial Day, stay out of the water.

ENCINITAS, CA — If you’re planning on doing a Memorial Day barbecue on the beach, be careful: the National Weather Service has issued a Beach Hazards Statement for Encinitas and the San Diego Coast from Sunday at 2 p.m. to Tuesday at 11 p.m.
Surf of 5 to 8 feet is expected, along with a high risk of dangerous rip currents. Winds of 16 mph are predicted Monday in Encinitas, so if you’re headed to the beach, hold down your picnic blankets with rocks, and stay out of the water.
Other than that, Monday is expected to be warm and partly cloudy. In Encinitas, a high of 67 degrees and 50% cloud cover are expected, according to Accuweather.

Similar weather is expected over the weekend, with highs of 65 and 66 predicted for Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
