Men’s Club Dinner Forum Featuring Todd Gloria San Diego City Council President Council District 3 Representative Wednesday, December 17, 2014,

Beth Israel of San Diego Men’s Club is pleased to welcome San Diego’s City Council President and Council District 3 Representative, Todd Gloria, as our guest speaker. Please join us to hear Councilman Gloria share his views and plans for the future of San Diego.

Todd Gloria became the Interim Mayor of the City of San Diego on August 30, 2013 and served until the election of Mayor Faulkner. He was elected to his second term as council member representing District 3 on June 5, 2012. He served as council president in 2013 and was re-elected to that position in 2014.

In Gloria’s first term as a council member, he championed increased infrastructure investment, San Diego’s first permanent year-round homeless service center, was a leading advocate for transportation options including a stronger public transit system and pedestrian and bicycle projects, and authored Proposition C, to update the City’s veterans hiring policy.

As Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee since 2011, Gloria oversaw the development and approval of budgets to stabilize the City’s finances, and restored services like library hours. Gloria currently chairs the Committee on Budget and Government Efficiency. He represents San Diego on the board of the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG), is a member of the SANDAG Executive Committee, is the past and current Chair of the SANDAG Transportation Committee, is an alternate for the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System, and is the liaison to Civic San Diego.

Todd Gloria is a graduate of the University of San Diego and a native San Diegan, and a third generation resident of District 3.
