BLUES AGAINST HUNGER
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
One Fun Night of Blues, Burgers and Helping the Community
June 12, 2014, San Diego California - You can help feed the hungry and listen to great blues music during a summer to fall concert series from June through November in California, southern Oregon and Baja California. The Burgers Blues Bash concert series is being produced by Blues Against Hunger, a food drive to benefit independent charities throughout Baja California, the California Association of Food Banks, and southern Oregon food banks.
On Sunday, June 29, from 12PM - 3PM the concert series will be at The Kraken at 2531 S Hwy 101, in beautiful Cardiff-by-the-Sea. The fun rockin’, blues music duo The Sweet n’ Lowdown Show and their guests will be appearing live in concert. The concert is FREE with the donation of any non-perishable food item to be donated to support FEEDING AMERICA SAN DIEGO.

The Sweet n’ Lowdown Show is a blues duo that combines old school blues classics like John Lee Hooker’s “Boom Boom”, and Albert King’s “Born Under a Bad Sign”, with a heavy blues rock sound of the 1960’s and 1970's like Jimi Hendrix’s “Red House”, and Gary Moore’s “Walking by Myself”, along with original songs and humor.
“This event is being done at a great time because food banks are desperate for food,“ said John Pack, Director, Blues Against Hunger. "In tough economic times, everyone needs hope and occasional help, especially those living in poverty. Statistically, donations are much lower over the summer months forcing many families and elderly to turn to food banks and donations for help. Throughout the summer, the donations will be able feed the poor and those in need."

“We feel this concert series and the food drive are a great way to benefit the community two-fold. We are helping to provide much needed food for families while giving the local communities a fun and inexpensive way to enjoy quality entertainment close to home,“ said Rachel Pack, president of Blues Against Hunger.
In an effort to help during this summer season Blues Against Hunger will be collecting as much food as possible, but the donation don’t need to stop there. On-going support is needed. This initiative is part of Blues Against Hunger’s community outreach campaign, bringing people together to address human needs and transform lives on the West Coast.
