Bomb Squad Investigates 'Suspicious Object' In Encinitas

ENCINITAS, CA – A bomb squad investigated a suspicious device found at a laundromat Thursday in Encinitas.

The suspicious object, which reportedly resembled a grenade, was found about 11 a.m. Thursday at LaunderLand on Encinitas Boulevard, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. Bomb squad personnel safety disposed of the device and reopened the area.

It was not immediately clear if the object was a real explosive device, a sheriff's lieutenant said.
