In this case, the answer is obvious. This may sound like a total bummer (because really, how awesome would it be if you could eat a pound of brownies for the same amount of calories as a pound of lettuce!) but it is actually a great thing.
You see, you can eat a crazy amount of veggies, fruits, whole grains, beans and lean proteins and get slim or stay slim. In fact, the more the merrier so fill up that plate!

The reason is simple: food that are super nutrient dense are low in calories. When you feed your body real foods, you are supplying it with the nutrients and calories it needs to function.
Weight loss is not ONLY about calories in and calories out (although, this is a very important factor). You also need NUTRIENTS to satisfy and satiate your sexy body.
Here’s an alarming thing to think about: You could be overweight and malnourished. That’s why getting loads of nutrient-dense, real foods is so important. When your body isn’t getting what she needs, she’s not gonna look the way you want her to look. You usually look like awful when you’re sick, right?
You know what I’m talking about here – you’ve experienced it. Just think about a time that you were on a diet. You were eating Lean Cuisine meals, drinking that diet Coke, having sugar-free pudding for a snack – but you were STILL HUNGRY! This is because most diet foods don’t contain a lot of nutrients. So your body tells you to keep eating so she can get the nutrients she needs.
Same thing happens when you’re eating junk food. Doritos, burgers, onion rings, cake and donuts won’t give your gorgeous body the nutrients she needs – so she keeps on a eating trying to get what she needs to function.
On the flip side, when you eat veggies, whole grains and leans proteins, your body is getting the nutrients she NEEDS and she won’t be nagging at you to keep eating. By indulging in these kinds of good-for-you foods, you are giving your body the nutrients and calories she needs, directly from nature herself.
You can’t say the same for fast food and other preservative-laden fake foods. Too much of those will leave you FAT, sick and malnourished.
