Elderly Motorist Hits Girl, Jogger This Morning In Rancho Penasquitos Area
The child sustained minor injuries. The jogger and the driver were taken to the hospital.

An elderly motorist this morning struck and injured a 12-year-old girl and a male jogger before crashing into a tree in the Rancho Penasquitos area, according to police.
The accident occurred at 7:48 a.m. at Del Diablo Street and Penasquitos Drive, the San Diego Police Department said.
The driver, a 76-year-old woman, was driving her 2007 Toyota north on Penasquitos Drive approaching Del Diablo Street when she drifted to the right and hit the girl and then the jogger, a man in his 40s, before hitting a tree, police said.

The child sustained minor injuries and was not transported to a medical facility. The jogger, meanwhile, sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, and was taken to a local hospital, police said.
