Encinitas Post Office Will Have Extended Hours During Holiday Season
Also, some tips to simplify mailing those cards and packages.

The is extending its hours for a few days this month in an effort to better deal with holiday crowds.
Here’s a rundown of the modified schedule:
- Thursday, Dec. 15: 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Saturday, Dec. 17: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Sunday, Dec. 18: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Monday, Dec. 19: 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
This Encinitas post office also has an Automated Postal Center (APC), a self-service kiosks that can provide 80 percent of the transactions available at the service counter. You can APCs to get postage, look up zip codes, weigh and price envelopes and parcels up to 70 pounds. These machines can handle transactions in English or Spanish and accept major credit and debit cards.

You can also do all of your holiday mailing online via the Click-and-Ship feature. You can print postage and mailing labels from your computer, and you’ll qualify for a discount on Priority Mail and Express Mail just for using the website. The more you ship, the more you save. And when a package is ready to be shipped, you can schedule a free package pickup right from your home or office.
