Encinitas Ranks Among Top 30 Safest Cities In CA: Report

ENCINITAS, CA — Encinitas ranks among the top 30 safest cities in California, according to a new report from Safewise. The security review website recently released its ranking of the 50 Safest Cities in California for 2022, and Encinitas ranked as the fourth safest city in San Diego County and the 28th safest city in the state.

SafeWise looked at FBI crime statistics for each city in California to compile its eighth annual Safest Cities report. A total of 230 cities met criteria to be considered for ranking.

Danville in Northern California, followed by Rancho Santa Margarita in Orange County and Moorpark in Ventura County, ranked as the top three safest cities in the state for the third consecutive year.

• No. 23: San Marcos
• No. 27: Santee
• No. 28: Encinitas
• No. 54: Carlsbad
• No. 57: Chula Vista
• No. 59: Vista
• No. 87: La Mesa
• No. 99: San Diego
• No. 110: Escondido
• No. 123: Oceanside
• No. 143: El Cajon
• No. 170: National City

In 2021, Encinitas ranked as the 17th safest city in in California, according to SafeWise. Encinitas has 63,055 residents and the median household income is $116,022.
