Encinitas Seeks Nominees for Outstanding Environmental Acheivements
Encinitas' Environmental Commission seeks to recognize local environmental leaders for their efforts and environmental commitment.
The City of Encinitas Environmental Commission is now accepting nominations for the 2016 Environmental Award Program. The City is seeking nominations for individuals and businesses that deserve recognition for their commitment to environmental stewardship and outstanding environmental achievements in Encinitas.
There are two award categories, one for individuals and non-profits, and one for businesses. The Environmental Award Program is co-sponsored by the Surfing Madonna Oceans Project and the City of Encinitas Environmental Commission. Winners will be recognized at the Surfing Madonna Beach Run winner’s stage on October 15, 2016 with original and unique environmentally-themed works of art by local Encinitas artists.
In 2015, Encinitas Environmental Award Program winners included the Solana Center for Environmental Innovation, and GoodOnYa Organic Deli. The Solana Center received this award for their long history of promoting sustainable practices, recycling, composting, local cleanups, and environmental education. GoodOnYa received the award for their environmental and organic practices throughout their product lines, equipment, operations, and company culture.
