Encinitas Surf Report Dec. 1-2

Sloppy conditions from strong NW wind.

There are still some shoulder-high peaks every once in a while but a strong wind of almost 20 knots has made for poor conditions.

NW and SW groundswell are overshadowed by the strong windswell.

Water temps, if they were at 60, will no doubt be in the 50s with this cold wind. Call it 58 degrees.

Despite the strong winds, conditions aren't anywhere near Victory at Sea, so it still might be worth a paddle out, especially in the morning as the tide fills in.

Low tide is at 8:15 a.m. at under 3 feet; high tide peaks at 1:30 p.m. at 4 feet.

Sunset tonight: 4:42 p.m.

For tomorrow, Friday the 2nd, wind should back down and blow gently offshore in the morning, so look for it to clean up with 2-3 foot surf.
