The seven-member commission is appointed by the city council. Each member serves a two-year term. The commission conducts public hearings and prepares recommendations to the city council on matters regarding the visual, performing and literary arts.
The commisstion meets the first Monday of the month, with some exceptions, in the city council chambers.
