SurfAid Documentary Premiere at La Paloma Theatre

SurfAid USA will premiere Behind the Palms, a documentary highlighting the organization’s humanitarian achievements over the past 10 years, on August 23, 2012 at La Paloma in Encinitas.

SurfAid has made a significant difference improving the health, wellbeing and self-reliance of people living in isolated regions, connected to us through surfing. The documentary takes viewers to the beautiful Mentawai Islands off Indonesia’s West Sumatran Coast and highlights the island communities and SurfAid’s life saving programs in these remote villages.

Following Behind the Palms, there will be a screening of Manufacturing Stoke, a documentary written and produced by Pierce Michael Kavanagh that spreads awareness of the environmental  impact of the surf industry.
