Winds of Change

An enthralling evening concert of Indian Classical music benefiting schools for under-privileged children.

Indian Classical Music dates back to 1000BC. The Indian Classical flute or "Bansuri" is one of the oldest instruments. Fashioned out of a simple bamboo reed with seven or eight holes, and played by blowing the pranic breath across this humble instrument, its rich, soothing tone is capable of lending and delivering the most refined and subtle musical nuances and expression to any melody, making it a divine experience both, to the performer and the listener.

The concert features David Philipson on the Bansuri and Miles Shrewsbery on the Tabla providing intricate rhythms to the beautiful raagas rendered by the flute.
