Girls on the Run San Diego's Spring 5K
More than 500 girls, running with coaches, family, and friends are expected to participate in the May 15 Girls on the Run 5K
Girls on the Run San Diego, a nonprofit after-school program offering a curriculum of self-confidence and empowerment to girls in third through eighth grades, celebrates the culmination of its 10-week season with a Spring 5K. More than 500 girls who participate in the 40 Girls on the Run teams in San Diego County are registered to take part in the event. The girls have trained all year to participate in this noncompetitive 5K, whether they run, walk or skip across the finish line. The girls will be celebrating their commitment to healthy living with family, friends, coaches, teachers and community members.
