The Art of Recording

The MiraCosta College Music Department presents Grammy-platinum winning record producer/engineer Ed Stasium in a lecture/symposium on the art of recording. Stasium will recall his experience in the recording industry and how it relates to the present state of the art. He will also present a workshop on recording drums. Stasium has recorded such diverse artists as The Ramones, Talking Heads, Mick Jagger, Marshall Crenshaw, Gladys Knight and the Pips, The Misfits, The Reverend Horton Heat, and The Empty Hearts. The seminar begins with a lecture from 2-4 p.m. and concludes with a drum-micing workshop from 5:30-8 p.m. in the Concert Hall (OC2400), 1 Barnard Dr., Oceanside.
